Fall Fabric Pumpkin Pillow

Making this Fabric Pumpkin Pillow is a great way to get your home looking and smelling like fall! It is a simple and easy craft to get your creative mind going this autumn. I love the look of pumpkins but they don’t last forever. By making these pumpkins I can have as many as I want around my house without having to worry about them rotting. That way I get the fall look that I love without the hassle!

Fall Fabric Pumpkin Pillow – Step 1

Cutting out pumpkin pattern

Start by pinning and cutting out your pumpkin. You can use our free Pumpkin Pattern! To make your life easier fold you fabric in half so that when you cut out the piece on the fold you have four layers but two pumpkin pieces.

The next thing you are going to do is put your two pumpkin pieces together pretty side (side you want on the outside) together. Then pin around the entire outside edge. Make sure to leave about a 4″ opening at the top of your pumpkin for later. You are then going to sew around the outside pressure foot edge.

turn and stuff your pumpkin pretty side out

Now you are going to turn your pumpkin pretty side out through that hole that you left at the top of your pumpkin. Then stuff it with fiber fill or craft stuffing.

Next you are going to glue about 3-5 cinnamon sticks together.

Adding stem to fabric pumpkin

Now hand stitch the opening almost closed. Place a dab of hot glue on the bottom of the group of cinnamon sticks and place in the whole at the top of the pumpkin. Finish hand-sewing any area left at the top of the pumpkin.

Then using orange embroidery thread go around the pumpkin and tie a knot in the back to hide it. You are going to want to do this to both sides of your pumpkin pillow.

add some greenery to the top of your fabric pillow

Finally you are going to hot glue silk green leaves at the top of the pumpkin and add any other orange flower or leaf if desired.

You are now done your Fall Fabric Pumpkin Pillow! You can now make as many as you would like to decorate your home this autumn.
