CREATE THIS ADORABLE OWL FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE! HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE IT:
- 9″x12″ sheets of rustic felt
- ribbon for handle (or use a metal ornament hook)
- fiber fill or stuffing
- 2 buttons for eyes
- moss, sticks, and/or greenery
- basic sewing supplies

Felt Owl Ornament – Step 1
The first thing you are going to do is pin and cut out your owl. You can use our free Owl Pattern or feel free to make your own.
Felt Owl Ornament – Step 2
Next you are going Pin the owl pretty sides together around the outer edge. Put double pins at the bottom as shown 3″ apart. These pins indicate to not sew in-between them. That is where you will stuff the owl. Once you have pinned you are going to sew around your owl pressure foot edge. You can use a straight stitch or a decorative stitch if your machine has that option.

Then fold the top of the owl down and pin in place as shown. Stitch the “V” area of the owl. (This will be the face.)

Now what you are going to do is stuff your owl and sew the bottom closed using the same stitch as you did before.

Finally, hand sew the button eyes on. Hot glue moss, sticks, or greenery to complete your woodsy owl ornament.
Add a ribbon or a hook to your owl and it is now finished! This ornament will be a hoot when people see your Christmas tree!
