Don’t throw those old jeans away. Here’s a quick and easy reversible napkin you can use for your baskets on all your patriotic holidays. One side will be denim and the other use your favorite Americana print.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE USING THIS REVERSIBLE PATRIOTIC CLOTH NAPKIN! HERE IS WHAT I USED TO MAKE IT:
- 1 pair of old jeans or denim shorts
- patriotic print fabric
- basic sewing supplies
Patriotic Cloth Napkin – Step 1
First using the back of the jeans cut out the back part making sure there is plenty of room around each of the pockets. You can make the denim basket napkin as large as you want. I made mine 18″ x 9″.

After that use the denim fabric that you cut out as a pattern and cut out the same size fabric from your patriotic fabric.

Next pin the denim and the fabric pretty sides together. Use double crossed pins to help indicate where to start and stop as you sew. Sew around the fabric using the pressure foot as your guide. Don’t forget to leave that opening.

Then turn reversible napkin to pretty side out. Gently poke out corners with a pencil. Press. Hand stitch the opening closed.
Your reversible fabric napkin is now finished! You can use your reversible denim patriotic basket napkin for all your outside picnics. You can use the jean side any time of the year. And use the patriotic side during all your favorite American holidays like: 4th of July, Flag day, Memorial day, and Labor Day.
