First you will need to tea-stain your fabrics.  To do so save your extra tea and coffee. Soak fabric and lace in tea or coffee until its the primitive color or stain you like. Then wash and dry your fabric. Press your fabric nice and flat. You can also use Rite Dye tan color to get the same effect. Just follow the directions on the bottle. Once you have your tea-stained fabric it is time to cut out your heart pattern you can make your own or you can use our free heart pattern.

Next cut out the lines of your pattern so that you have three heart pattern pieces. From each pattern piece pin and cut two pieces of fabric from different prints. Now let’s sew the pieces of the heart together. Place one of the top and middle section of heart pieces PRETTY SIDES TOGETHER at the center seam. Pin and stitch using the pressure foot as your guide. Do the same to the bottom and middle section.

Then press seams nice and flat. Now you have a full heart with three different prints of fabric. Do the same for the back of the heart with the other three pieces/sections of the heart. Pin lace to seam where the top and middle section met. Stitch in place.
