Joseph’s Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Sharing is caring!

DSC_0104“Go, go, Joseph, You know what they say!” And what I’m saying is how proud I am of my student Olivia for taking on the project of designing and making the coat for her school musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.” At age 14 she was ask to make it as close to the broadway version starring Donny Osmond as possible, and what an under taking it was. More than twenty eight yards of fabric, and about thirty three hours of sewing later, the colorful coat was made. The actor shinned in the coat just like Donny did so many years ago! Olivia’s favorite part of making the coat was sewing on all the gold trim.

I’m sorry, I do not. We made that many years ago, and ended up donating it to the school. Sorry, wish I could help more. For the most part we used a coat top and a circle skirt for the bottom part of the coat, then divided the circle skirt into “pie” pieces.
