Competitions

Designed a poster based on movie title prompts

Our fashion themed movie poster competition had our designers creating a dramatic and stylish movie poster for a pretend fashion themed film. They were allowed to use all kinds of mixed media like pencil, marker, crayon, card stock, paint, etc. The results were amazing, with each poster leaving us wishing these fashion films were real.

Sketching a drawing based off of a prompted movie scene

In this competition titled Scene Stealers teams were given a mystery scene from a movie and had to sketch an outfit that would be worn in that moment. They were judged on imagination, design, and creativity. The designs were so fabulous, each one bringing the mystery scene to life with such imagination and inventive design that we could almost see the characters stepping right off the page.

character category design competition

Fiber & Fiction was a character design challenge where the designers used scraps of fabric to create a stunning costume for one of the main characters out of a list of character categories. Each group created a character that looked ready to enter each world.

In addition to our design competitions we also played guess the movie quote. These included quotes like “That’s not just a blue sweater… it’s cerulean” from The Devil Wears Prada as well as “I’m going to be a fashion designer. I already made 3 outfits today” from Fancy Nancy. The challenge was so fun and had everyone guessing.
