Social Media Marketing Executive: Part-Time / Paid Position (5-10 hours per week)

Love to Sew Studio is looking for a talented, energetic and creative Social Media Marketing Executive to join our studio staff. This person should have a passion and knowledge for all things “Pop Culture” and “In Style” and enjoy working and keeping up with today’s fast-paced world.

The Social Media Marketing Executive is responsible for managing, maintaining and growing Love to Sew’s social media channels, ETSY shop, and website work. They will increase brand presence and will need to support the LTS staff and director with general marketing requests.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage, maintain and grow the Company brand presence on social media
  • Increase followers, likes and interactions with the intention of facilitating customer outreach, creating dialogue and improving total audience reach
  • Be creative in executing relevant messaging, competitions, polls, photos, descriptions, videos, and other viral content to create a dialogue with our customers and increase the “stickiness” of our feeds
  • Own and build upon our social media calendar, ensuring messaging is relevant and concise. Must forward plan but also be reactive to internal changes and trends
  • Respond quickly to posts on our social media and flag any negative activity to the relevant team
  • Manage asset creation for social media needs; taking creative photos and working with our team of instructors and director on occasion
  • Consider and present the best opportunities to advertise and sponsor posts on social media
  • Establish and build relationships with other studios, fabric stores, sewing shops, etc. to increase our brand presence/awareness
  • Measure and report monthly on the success of social media campaigns and gives a thorough overview of all online coverage
  • Build website pages of new tutorials and DIY projects
  • Provide new and creative ideas for DIY projects and tutorials for the website

  • Ideally a good understanding of organic / SEO
  • An awareness of sewing, fashion, quilting, crafting

 

 

Sewing Instructor: Part-Time / Paid Position (6-24 hours per week depending upon the need)

Love to Sew Studio is looking for a talented, energetic and creative person to join our studio as a sewing instructor. This person should have a passion and knowledge for all things sewing including crafts, quilts, fashion, and costume. 

Our sewing instructors are responsible for teaching, guiding, and instructing both children and adults basic sewing skills in a positive and fun manner.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and lead sewing classes, workshops, and private lessons
  • Provide demonstration and instruction of basic sewing, basic pattern layout, and basic machine use
  • Communicate information with clarity, patience, and enthusiasm
  • Ensure safe and appropriate use of all equipment

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Passion and knowledge of pop culture, fashion, style, and sewing skills
  • Experience and medium-level skills in sewing machine use, designing of clothing, and use of patterns for making new clothing items
  • Fun, creative and insightful person with a can-do attitude
  • Experience in teaching small groups
  • Ability to cater for individual needs with ongoing projects in a group setting 
  • Reliability and flexibility

 

Student Project Designer: Part-Time / Volunteer Training Position (meets once or twice a month for about 6 hours)

This position is only available to students within Love to Sew Studio ages 13 and older.

If you love to design, create, and sew new projects, then you might want to consider joining our Project Design Team. Love to Sew Studio is always looking for students who are eager to design and create new projects. A project designer is someone who designer, or plans “projects” for the studio to be used in the studio, sold on ETSY, placed in the website as a DIY tutorial, or placed in a magazine ad. This is a great opportunity and learning experience, and it can help you with leadership skills, time management, and pattern making and creativity skills with sewing, I t can also count as an internship or volunteer time for your personal resume, work resumer, college application, or time on your national honor society application.

 

What You’ll Do

  • See a project that you have designed from all its phases from presentation, creating it, to the final project
  • Design and create new projects so they can be completed quickly, efficiently, and successfully while taking consideration in the budget, age group, difficultly level, planning, and pattern design
  • Provide demonstration, photographs, and step by step instruction for the project
  • Communicate information with clarity, patience, and enthusiasm to the design team
  • Ensure safe and appropriate use of all equipment

  • Experience and medium-level skills in sewing machine use, sewing techniques, pattern design, and craft making
