Sharing is caring!

Where are you located?

We are conveniently located on West Pennsbury Way, just off Route 1 in historic Chadds Ford, PA.  We are close to Hank’s Place, the Chadds Ford Winery, and Longwood Gardens. The studio is attached to the director’s home. It has its own entrance and restroom. There is also an exit out the back door leading to a lovely picnic area for lunch time during our summer camps.

What is the age range for your students?

Students range from ages 8 to adult. Our evening open sewing classes are for students ages 8-18, and we offer private and semi-private lessons for adults.

What is the cancellation policy for your classes?

We DO NOT offer a cancellation policy. However, we offer a convenient make-up policy.

Can I bring my own sewing machine?

We allow students to bring their own machine during private lessons/semi-private lessons only. We provide 8 Project Runway Brother machines here in the studio and do not have room for any more during summer camps or weekly classes. However, we do offer private lessons on how to use your machine.

Can I stay with my child during class/observe a class?

At our studio, we make sure students stay focused with an instructor to guide them through all lessons. We feel when parents and guardians are present, children tend to be easily distracted and their attention is split. Their concentration and confidence level goes down, and it is also distracting to other students and instructors in the studio. You are welcome to come in to drop off your child and to pick up your child, but we suggest students take classes independently. If you feel strongly about staying with your child, you are welcome to take a mommy and me class, or sign up for a semi-private lesson, and participate in the lesson.

Do you sell fabric and/or sewing supplies?

NO, we are not a fabric store, and we do not sell any fabric or supplies.

I’ve never sewn before. Now what do I do?

That’s OK. We will start you from your very first stitch! Children ages 8 to 18 can either take a Learn to Sew week of summer camp, or schedule two 2-hour private lessons with us. Both of these classes will give you basic sewing skills and you’ll learn about the machine. Then you may join a sewing class or continue with private lessons and/or other camps. Adults may schedule private or semi-private lessons for their needs. Children who are a “young 8 year old” are welcome to take private lesson until they are ready for regular classes.

I need to miss a class. What do I do?

If you need to miss a class please call or e-mail us to let us know.  Then confirm with us when you want to schedule a make-up for the missed class. A missed class must be made up within 30 days.

How do I register?

The best way to register is to e-mail us or call to hold your spot.  Once your spot has been held, send in payment and registration form.

How do I reach someone if I have more questions?

You can e-mail us @ lovetosew.com@comcast.net or call us @ (610) 563-8633.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes, we do. We offer in-studio private lessons, and semi-private lessons (two students) if you have a friend who is also interested.
